We are the African mothership, a conductor carrying ancient expressions in contemporary form from city to city, backyard to yard, from the continent to the diaspora and beyond.
Feel the heartbeat of this living organism.
For 10 weeks the city of Munich is privileged to host some of the most exciting articulators of Afrocentric expression in the 21st century. The emphasis for this Munich edition will be on artists with a root or relationship to Germany.
The Afro Metropolitan Art Experience invites your participation in celebrating this contemporary multi disciplinary show of strength, resilience, vision and fortitude!
THE PROGRAMME
INSPIRATION
Art is meant to awaken and inform, to evolve and inspire. The Afro Metropolitan Art Experience invites you to reimagine a world where the most brilliant voices from within the Afro Diaspora community are heard and seen.
EDUCATION
For 10 consecutive weekends The Black Diaspora Institute will program a variety of classes and workshops as part of the Afro Metropolitan Art Experience. Each Saturday and Sunday, a variety of artists and creatives will share their journey, knowledge and information as valuable inspiration.
ACTIVATION
This event is designed to speak to all senses. Making it a participratory experience for all. A cultural phenomenon unlike any Germany has witnessed before. Pull up, bring your A-game and add on to the living organism that we are.
